Green Malata project

Image
We have decided to make a monthly modest contribution to the Green Malata project in Luchenza, Malawi via The Children's Fund of Malawi. In the past one of our boardmembers was involved when the project was still in its embryonic form. In the meantime it has started functioning as was intended. A place for orphans and other vulnerable youths to learn a trade. Since opening the doors of the entrepreneurial training village or village polytech, "Green Malata" in 2014, over 560 youths from Mulanje, Thyolo, Phalombe and beyond have been trained.

Malawi hospital

In Malawi going to hospital is a tough experience for adults and children alike. Apart from the ailment suffered hospitals are underfunded and overcrowded with 2 or 3 patients in a bed. We are now exploring with one of our partners if we can make a contribution to alleviate suffering in QECH in Blantyre by repairing broken beds and possibly make some new one's too.

Jaarverslag 2022

Het parent empowerment project i.s.m.

Cyclone Freddy

Image
Malawi has been hard hit by cyclone Freddy killing at least 225 people, but the resulting devastation has left survivors trapped and fighting for survival. The country's Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) said in an update Wednesday that 707 people are injured and 41 reported missing, according to reports received from 12 affected areas. Chilobwe, one of the hardest-hit areas, is a township near the city of Blantyre. Located below a hill, the township saw water gushing down from above on Sunday night. Several beneficiaries of our child education support programme have also been affected. One family's house partly collapsed. We appeal for donations to help them and others as well.  All donations to Stichting Child Aid International are tax-deductable in the Netherlands as the organization has an ANBI status.  Stichting Child Aid International, Dalem, Netherlands. Kinderhulp Malawi

Van onze partners in Kenia: A REPORT ON CHARITY VISIT TO PARADISE CHILDREN’S HOME ~ Kibra Child aid & Dev conducted a charity activity on 4 th June 2022 where they mentored and distributed foodstuffs and toiletry to orphans in Kibra ~ Nairobi county. The home was founded in the year 2002 by the patron’s mother who passed away last year during the pandemic. The home provides shelter to 47 children most of who are orphaned. Others found their way to the home as a result of parents’ negligence.   We arrived at the home where we conducted cleaning exercises, cooked, fed the kids, and talked to them. We were accompanied by members of the School of Engineering from the Technical University of Kenya and The Platform Org.   Both with clothing for the kids and gave us moral support. One main of the challenge facing the home was inadequate cereals. Also talking to the kids, they pointed out that most lack inadequate stationeries (books and pens) for their education....
